On November 9, 2005, FLS hosted our 3rd Legislative Recognition Ceremony within the beautiful rotunda of the Florida Supreme Court.

Chief Justice Barbara Pariente offered eloquent remarks concerning the importance of assuring Equal Access to Justice for poor, elderly and disabled Floridians. This year’s Legislator of the Year award went to Representative Dudley Goodlette who was the champion of the Florida Civil Legal Assistance Act.
There were also eighteen other legislators recognized for their good works in the area’s of health, housing, family, employment, consumer and public benefits law.
Making the presentations were FLS attorneys Arthur Rosenberg, Dorene Barker, Alice Vickers, Ann Perko, Cindy Huddleston and Executive Director, Kent Spuhler.
Special guests included several Supreme Court Justices, Project Directors, and our own President, James Bell.
