The issues discussed include: who must work in order to get cash assistance; what work support services can immigrants get or not get; non-discrimination and non-displacement protections available under law for immigrant cash assistance "workers"; specific work activities of interest to immigrants including the allowability of ESOL (English for speakers of other languages); hardship time extensions for immigrants; LEP (limited English proficiency) advocacy opportunities; and appeal rights.

Alien Eligibility for Public Benefits

To understand public benefits eligibility for aliens, one must first understand that eligibility is not simply a matter of having a particular immigration status.
